Acupuncture is a therapy that is used in the traditional medicines from many East Asian countries. Fine, sterile, solid needles are inserted into specific points on the body. The points are chosen as part of a treatment plan as agreed upon with Laura, based on your main concerns, what you are experiencing, and what she is observing. Patients should expect weekly treatment for approximately three months, in most cases and up to six months on a more frequent basis in more severe or chronic cases. Once symptoms have subsided and you agree with Laura that you have reached a new equilibrium, treatments are spaced out accordingly. Many patients continue to come in for periodic tune-ups or maintenance at a frequency that works for them.
